We find strength and balance in the teachings of the land.
The land, with its mountains, plants, and animals, teaches us important lessons and gives us strength to care for our culture and families. By following our traditions, we find balance and respect our special connection with nature.

NAVAJO OUTDOOR WOMEN & FRIENDS
The Navajo Outdoor Women & Friends organization emerged from a dedicated group of Navajo women employed by the Navajo Nation Department of Fish and Wildlife, where they serve as natural resource keepers across various professional domains. Their work within the department provided them with unique insights into the needs of women in their community, particularly the desire for a safe, welcoming space to learn essential outdoor skills such as hunting, fishing, camping, and the identification of local flora and fauna. This initiative not only fosters teamwork and camaraderie among women but also serves as a vital platform for empowering them to reconnect with the land and its offerings, ensuring that knowledge and appreciation for the great outdoors can be passed down through generations. In our modern world, where technological distractions often overshadow our connection to nature, it is crucial for Navajo women to reclaim that bond with Mother Earth. This reconnection offers a powerful pathway for healing both the mind and body, helping to restore balance and well-being within the community.
